This Is Our “17 Seconds” Newsletter #130: 17 Seconds = Useful Info Quickly.
On Sunday, March 2, 2025, while walking our dog, Piper, I slipped and fell on ice in the Acton Arboretum and broke my left wrist. Less than a minute later, I was rescued by another dog walker (shout out to Pepper’s dad; and I note that when you walk dogs, you tend to know the name of the other dogs but not their owners) and taken to the ER. Less than 48 hours later, I had had surgery to repair my badly broken left wrist (another reason that I am thankful to live in the Greater Boston area). The surgery included one steel plate, seven screws, and eight stitches. Ten days after surgery, I got the cast off and stitches out and began the rehabilitation phase.
I mention all of this, not because I am looking for sympathy, but because I want to let you know that we have designed Clocktower to be able to weather storms like this one. Storms such as a family crisis, an injury, or simply a much-needed vacation.
When I am asked how big Clocktower is, I usually reply that on an FTE basis, we are five, but on an employee basis, we are three. The other two FTEs are split up into many 1099 chunks, scattered all over the world. Some are more formal connections who serve as official backups on our malpractice insurance policies, and others are friends of the firm who step in to help.
So how big is Clocktower? We are as big as you need us to be! And we are one big, loving extended family.
I hope that you have not noticed any delays, and if you have noticed any delays, then I hope that you have noticed that they are minimal. Clocktower will be back to full strength shortly, and it was interesting for me to note, as I was writing this article, by voice to text, that I have blogged about these things previously.
Thank you, as always for your business, referrals, and friendship!
