A patent gives an inventor the right to exclude others from making, using, and selling the invention for a set period of time. In other words, a patent helps you to manufacture and market your product as you see fit.
Patent attorneys can advise you whether or not you need a patent.
So if you have a product (or service) that is better/faster/stronger than the competition’s, then you should be able to get a patent for it. At least this is how patent law is supposed to work.
Note that improvements to existing products can also be patented. So you should think about patents before launching new products or new versions of existing products.
